HerpX™ is an oral antiviral for cats living with Feline Herpesvirus (FHV-1), the infection behind most recurring eye and upper respiratory flares. Each film-coated tablet contains 180 mg of famciclovir and is given at home under veterinary direction.

Formulated for cats, not adapted from human medicine

Famciclovir is considered systemically well tolerated in cats when dosed correctly. That distinction matters: acyclovir and valacyclovir, two human antivirals sometimes reached for by mistake, are associated with toxicity in cats. HerpX™ is intended for feline use under veterinary guidance.

Support across the main forms of FHV-1

  • Ocular flares, including conjunctivitis and corneal disease
  • Upper respiratory flares, including sneezing, nasal discharge and congestion
  • Recurrent flares triggered by stress

Consistent dosing, clear guidance

  • Fixed 180 mg film-coated tablet, so repeat weight-based dosing stays consistent
  • Built around published feline dosing literature
  • Given under veterinary supervision

Feline Herpesvirus remains in the body for life and is not eliminated. Treatment is directed at the frequency and duration of flares rather than at clearing the virus.

  • Give 180 mg, which is one HerpX™ tablet, for every 2 kg of body weight, every 12 hours, or as directed by your veterinarian. Administer approximately 1 hour before feeding for optimal absorption.

Indicative guide, confirm with your veterinarian:

    • Cat around 2 kg: 180 mg per dose, 1 tablet, every 12 hours
    • Cat around 4 kg: 360 mg per dose, 2 tablets, every 12 hours
    • Cat around 6 kg: 540 mg per dose, 3 tablets, every 12 hours

Because the exact dose depends on your cat's weight and your veterinarian's assessment, confirm the number of tablets per dose before starting.

Monitoring and follow up. We recommend ongoing veterinary review during treatment so your veterinarian can assess the response and decide whether to continue or adjust. Antiviral dosing should not be reduced or tapered without veterinary direction.
